Governance Document 2025

The name of the organization is Autistic FC (hereinafter referred to as "the Team"). 

1. Purpose 

The purpose of the Team is to: 

• Promote and facilitate participation in football for individuals with autism. 
• Provide a supportive and inclusive environment for members to develop their football skills and build social connections. 
• Raise awareness and understanding of autism through sports and community engagement. 

2. Membership 

Membership is open to all individuals with autism who are interested in participating in football, as well as their families and supporters. There shall be no discrimination on grounds of gender, age, race, or religion. 

3. Governance 

The Team shall be governed by a Committee, which will be elected annually by the members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Committee shall consist of the following roles: 

• Chairperson 
• Club Manager  
• Secretary 
• Treasurer 
• Welfare & Inclusion Officer 
• Community Liaison Officer 

4. Meetings 

• The AGM shall be held once a year to elect the Committee and review the Team's activities and finances. 
• Committee meetings shall be held at least quarterly, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary. 
• Decisions at meetings shall be made by a simple majority vote of those present. 

5. Finance 

• The Team’s funds shall be used solely for promoting and achieving the aims of the Team. 
• The Treasurer shall maintain accurate financial records and provide reports at each Committee meeting and the AGM. 
• Any expenditure over £100 shall require the approval of the Committee. 

6. Code of Conduct 

All members and participants shall: 

• Treat each other with respect and dignity. 
• Follow the rules and guidelines set forth by the Team and any applicable sports governing bodies. 
• Refrain from any behaviour that could harm or jeopardize the wellbeing of others. 

7. Health and Safety 

The Team is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all participants. This includes: 

• Conducting regular risk assessments. 
• Providing appropriate first aid and emergency procedures. 
• Ensuring all activities are conducted in safe environments. 

8. Complaints Procedure 

Any complaints regarding the conduct of members or the management of the Team shall be addressed in writing to the Secretary. The Committee will review the complaint and take appropriate action. 

9. Winding Up (Dissolution Clause) 

In the event that the Team is dissolved, any remaining funds and assets shall be distributed to a charitable organization with similar aims and objectives, as determined by the Committee. 

10. Amendments to the Governance Document 

Any amendments to this Governance Document shall be made only by a two-thirds majority vote at an AGM or a Special General Meeting called for this purpose.
