We had the incredible privilege of meeting Charlie Austin at Ballerz, a top-tier football facility located at Bluewater. The event, organised by our amazing partners at Panini, was a day to remember for everyone involved at Autistic FC. Not only did Charlie spend the day engaging with our players, but he also took part in a special training session, offering valuable tips, encouragement, and insight. His friendly and approachable demeanour immediately resonated with our players, creating an uplifting and unforgettable experience.
Shortly after this inspiring event, Charlie graciously accepted our invitation to become the next ambassador for Autistic FC. As an ex-QPR and Southampton striker with a storied career in professional football, his involvement brings immense credibility and visibility to our mission of promoting inclusion and opportunities for neurodiverse athletes.
What makes this partnership even more special is Charlie’s personal connection to neurodiversity. As someone who is neurodiverse himself, he understands the challenges and triumphs faced by many of our players. During his announcement, Charlie expressed how honoured and proud he felt to join our club, emphasising his commitment to helping foster greater inclusivity within the footballing world.
Having someone of Charlie’s stature and background on board is a monumental step for Autistic FC. His dedication to supporting our cause highlights the strides we’re making in breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy football in an environment that celebrates diversity.

It was at Yeovil where Charlie and Dan (big Yeovil fans themselves) asked Alex to take on the ambassadorial role. We first met Alex when Charlie was a Mascot at Huish Park and Alex walked out with him, he really understood Charlie and we have stayed in touch ever since. We all remain huge Alex fans and wish him all the best at Bath City.

Lillian was our first ever ambassador, at the time they were playing for Seaward FC, after a teams meeting with their Dad and Lillian we were so excited to get them on board. Lillian is autistic and was a fan of our club and we have followed and supported them ever since, as well as taking in some of their matches. With being such a superb player this caught the eye of Illinois Cougars in America and they have been out there on a scholarship recently this year, already playing in a couple of matches. As ever we will continue to support them and cheer them on from the UK, they are a real inspiration and we are so proud to call them a friend of the club.
